Mexican Spirits
Mexican spirits refer to traditional alcoholic beverages produced in Mexico, with the most famous being tequila and mezcal. Tequila is made from the blue agave plant, primarily in the region surrounding the city of Tequila, while mezcal can be produced from various types of agave and is often associated with the Oaxaca region. Both spirits have unique flavors and production methods, contributing to their distinct identities.
In addition to tequila and mezcal, other Mexican spirits include pulque, a fermented drink made from the sap of the agave plant, and raicilla, a lesser-known spirit also derived from agave. These beverages are often enjoyed in social settings and are an integral part of Mexican culture and traditions.
