Melanesian Spearhead Group
The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) is a regional organization established in 1986 to promote cooperation among Melanesian countries. Its founding members include Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. The group focuses on political, economic, and cultural collaboration, aiming to enhance the well-being of its member states.
In addition to the founding members, the MSG has expanded to include New Caledonia and West Papua as associate members. The organization addresses issues such as trade, security, and sustainable development, fostering unity and solidarity among the diverse cultures and nations of the Melanesian region.
