Marxist Thought
Marxist Thought is a social, political, and economic theory developed by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in the 19th century. It emphasizes the role of class struggle in shaping society and argues that capitalism leads to the exploitation of the working class, or proletariat, by the owning class, or bourgeoisie. Marxists believe that this conflict will ultimately lead to a revolutionary change, resulting in a classless society.
Central to Marxist Thought is the idea of historical materialism, which posits that material conditions and economic factors drive historical development. This perspective critiques capitalism and advocates for socialism, where the means of production are collectively owned, aiming to eliminate social inequalities and promote communal welfare.
