Marion Mahony Griffin
Marion Mahony Griffin (1871-1961) was an influential American architect and one of the first female architects in the United States. She studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and later worked with the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Mahony is known for her innovative designs and her role in the Prairie School movement, which emphasized harmony with the landscape.
In addition to her architectural work, Mahony was a talented illustrator. She created detailed drawings that helped promote the designs of her husband, Walter Burley Griffin, with whom she collaborated on various projects, including the design of Canberra, the capital city of Australia.
