Margarita Teresa
Margarita Teresa was a Spanish princess born on July 12, 1651, in Madrid. She was the daughter of King Philip IV of Spain and Mariana of Austria. Margarita Teresa is best known for her marriage to Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor, which helped strengthen the ties between Spain and the Holy Roman Empire.
Margarita Teresa became the Empress of the Holy Roman Empire upon her marriage in 1666. She was a prominent figure in the royal courts of Europe and is often depicted in paintings by artists like Diego Velázquez, who captured her likeness in the famous work "Las Meninas." She passed away on March 12, 1673.
