Mandarin Duck
The Mandarin Duck is a colorful waterfowl native to East Asia, particularly found in countries like China, Japan, and Korea. Known for its striking plumage, the male has vibrant orange "sails" on its back, intricate patterns, and a mix of blue, green, and white feathers. Females are more subdued in color, featuring a soft brown with white eye patches, which helps them blend into their surroundings.
These ducks prefer wooded areas near lakes and rivers, where they feed on seeds, fruits, and insects. Mandarin Ducks are also known for their unique courtship displays, which include elaborate movements and vocalizations to attract mates.
