Luwak
Luwak, also known as civet coffee, is a unique type of coffee made from beans that have been eaten and excreted by the Asian palm civet. The civet selectively chooses ripe coffee cherries, which undergo fermentation in its digestive system, enhancing the flavor of the beans. After being collected from the feces, the beans are thoroughly cleaned, roasted, and brewed to create a distinctive coffee.
This process results in a smooth, less acidic coffee with complex flavors. Luwak coffee is often considered a luxury item and can be quite expensive due to its labor-intensive production and the limited supply of beans.
