Kopi Luwak
Kopi Luwak is a unique type of coffee made from beans that have been eaten and excreted by the civet, a small mammal found in Southeast Asia. The process begins when the civet consumes ripe coffee cherries, and during digestion, the beans undergo fermentation. After being excreted, the beans are collected, cleaned, and processed to create coffee.
This coffee is known for its smooth flavor and low acidity, often described as having a rich, earthy taste. Due to its labor-intensive production and limited supply, Kopi Luwak is one of the most expensive coffees in the world.
