Luiseno people
The Luiseno people are a Native American tribe originally from Southern California, primarily residing in the area now known as San Diego County. They are part of the larger Cupeno and Cahuilla cultural groups and have a rich history that includes traditional practices, languages, and social structures.
Historically, the Luiseno people relied on hunting, gathering, and fishing for sustenance. They spoke the Luiseno language, which is part of the Uto-Aztecan language family. Today, many Luiseno descendants work to preserve their cultural heritage and promote awareness of their history and traditions.
