Lugou Bridge
Lugou Bridge, also known as the Marco Polo Bridge, is a historic stone bridge located in Beijing, China. It spans the Yongding River and was originally built during the Liao Dynasty in the 12th century. The bridge is famous for its 281 stone arches and over 500 stone lions that line its sides, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship.
The bridge gained international attention during the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1937, marking the beginning of large-scale conflict between China and Japan. Today, Lugou Bridge is a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Chinese resilience and history.
