Liao Dynasty
The Liao Dynasty (907-1125) was a Khitan-led dynasty that ruled over parts of northern China and Mongolia. It was established after the Khitan tribes unified under the leadership of Yelu Abaoji. The dynasty is known for its unique dual administration system, which governed both the Khitan and Han Chinese populations, allowing for cultural exchange and coexistence.
The Liao Dynasty played a significant role in the history of East Asia, influencing neighboring states like the Song Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty. It was marked by advancements in art, culture, and military organization, contributing to the development of the region before its eventual conquest by the Jin Dynasty.
