Lucilius
Lucilius was a Roman poet known for his satirical works, particularly his collection of poems called the Satires. He lived during the late 2nd century BCE and is often considered one of the earliest practitioners of satire in Latin literature. His writing style influenced later poets, including Horace and Juvenal, who expanded on the themes and techniques he introduced.
Although only fragments of his work survive today, Lucilius's influence on the genre of satire is significant. His ability to blend humor with social commentary set the stage for future literary critiques of Roman society. His contributions helped shape the development of Roman literature as a whole.
