Louis, Dauphin of France
Louis, Dauphin of France was the son of King Louis XIV and Maria Theresa of Spain. Born on November 1, 1661, he was the heir apparent to the French throne. Louis was raised in the lavish court of Versailles, where he received a comprehensive education in politics, military strategy, and the arts.
Despite his royal status, Louis struggled with health issues throughout his life. He married Maria Anna of Bavaria in 1680, but they had no surviving children. Louis died on April 14, 1711, at the age of 49, leaving the throne to his younger brother, Philippe.
