Little Rock Crisis
The Little Rock Crisis occurred in 1957 when nine African American students, known as the Little Rock Nine, attempted to integrate Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. This event was a significant moment in the American civil rights movement, highlighting the struggle against racial segregation in public schools.
The crisis escalated when Governor Orval Faubus deployed the National Guard to prevent the students from entering the school. In response, President Dwight D. Eisenhower intervened by sending federal troops to ensure the students' safety and uphold the law, marking a pivotal moment in the fight for civil rights in the United States.
