Leadbeater's Possum
Leadbeater's Possum is a small, nocturnal marsupial native to the forests of Victoria, Australia. It has a distinctive appearance, featuring large eyes, a long tail, and soft, grayish fur. This species primarily inhabits old-growth forests, where it relies on tree hollows for nesting and foraging.
Once thought to be extinct, Leadbeater's Possum was rediscovered in the 1960s. It is now classified as endangered due to habitat loss from logging and land clearing. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect its remaining habitats and ensure the survival of this unique species.
