Greater Glider
The Greater Glider is a large, nocturnal marsupial native to eastern Australia. It is known for its ability to glide through the trees, thanks to its large patagium, a membrane that stretches from its wrists to its ankles. This adaptation allows the Greater Glider to travel distances of up to 100 meters in a single glide, helping it escape predators and move between food sources.
These animals primarily feed on eucalyptus leaves, which provide them with both food and hydration. The Greater Glider is a solitary creature, often found resting in tree hollows during the day. Due to habitat loss and other environmental pressures, its population is declining, leading to conservation efforts to protect this unique species.
