Lava Formations
Lava formations are geological structures created by the movement and cooling of molten rock, or lava, from a volcano. When a volcano erupts, lava flows out and spreads across the landscape, solidifying as it cools. This process can create various shapes, including lava tubes, pahoehoe (smooth, ropy lava), and aa (rough, jagged lava).
These formations can vary in size and appearance, depending on the type of lava and the environment. Over time, they can contribute to the development of new landforms, such as shield volcanoes and lava plateaus, which can significantly alter the surrounding ecosystem.
