Languages of India
India is a linguistically diverse country with 22 officially recognized languages, as listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. The most widely spoken languages include Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, and Tamil, each representing different regions and cultures within the country.
In addition to these official languages, India is home to hundreds of regional dialects and languages, reflecting its rich cultural heritage. Many people in India are multilingual, often speaking their regional language alongside English and Hindi, which serve as link languages for communication across different states.
