Lam Sơn uprising
The Lam Sơn uprising was a significant rebellion in Vietnam that took place from 1418 to 1427. Led by Lê Lợi, the uprising aimed to overthrow the Ming Dynasty rule, which had invaded and occupied Vietnam. The movement gained support from various local leaders and the peasantry, who were discontent with the harsh Chinese administration.
The uprising was marked by several key battles and strategic guerrilla tactics. After years of struggle, the Vietnamese forces achieved a decisive victory at the Battle of Tốt Động - Chúc Động in 1426. This success ultimately led to the withdrawal of the Ming forces and the establishment of the Lê Dynasty in Vietnam.
