Kurdish Regions
The Kurdish Regions are areas primarily inhabited by the Kurdish people, an ethnic group with their own distinct language and culture. These regions are mainly located in parts of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria, collectively known as Kurdistan. The population in these areas has a rich history and has sought greater autonomy and recognition over the years.
In Iraq, the Kurdish Regional Government has established a semi-autonomous region known as the Kurdistan Region, which has its own government and military forces. In Turkey and Iran, the Kurdish population has faced various degrees of political and cultural repression, leading to ongoing tensions and conflicts.
