Koryaks
The Koryaks are an indigenous people primarily residing in the northeastern part of Siberia, Russia. They traditionally inhabit the Kamchatka Peninsula and the surrounding areas, where they have developed a unique culture closely tied to the natural environment. The Koryaks are known for their reindeer herding, fishing, and hunting practices, which have sustained their communities for centuries.
Koryak society is organized into clans, and their language belongs to the Chukotko-Kamchatkan language family. Traditionally, they engage in shamanistic practices and celebrate various cultural festivals that reflect their connection to nature. Today, many Koryaks continue to maintain their cultural heritage while also adapting to modern influences.
