Korean Royal Family
The Korean Royal Family refers to the historical ruling families of Korea, particularly during the Joseon Dynasty, which lasted from 1392 to 1910. This dynasty is known for its significant contributions to Korean culture, including the development of the Korean alphabet, Hangul, and advancements in art, science, and governance.
The last royal family of Korea was the Yi family, with the last king being Gojong, who declared the establishment of the Korean Empire in 1897. Following the annexation of Korea by Japan in 1910, the royal family lost its power, but descendants still exist today, preserving their heritage and history.
