Kitti's Hog-Nosed Bat
Kitti's Hog-Nosed Bat, also known as the Bumblebee Bat, is one of the smallest bat species in the world. It weighs about 2 grams and has a wingspan of approximately 13 centimeters. This tiny bat is found in parts of Thailand and Myanmar, primarily inhabiting limestone caves.
The bat has a distinctive pig-like snout, which gives it its name. Kitti's Hog-Nosed Bat primarily feeds on small insects, using echolocation to navigate and hunt in the dark. Due to habitat loss and other threats, it is classified as endangered, making conservation efforts crucial for its survival.
