King You of Zhou
King You of Zhou was a ruler of the Zhou Dynasty in ancient China, reigning from 781 to 771 BCE. He is often remembered for his controversial and tumultuous reign, which was marked by political instability and moral decline. His actions, including the neglect of state affairs and indulgence in personal pleasures, led to widespread dissatisfaction among his subjects.
The decline of King You of Zhou's rule ultimately resulted in the downfall of the Zhou Dynasty's Western phase. His reign ended when he was overthrown by a coalition of nobles, leading to the establishment of the Eastern Zhou period, which was characterized by further fragmentation and conflict among states.
