King Ramiro I
King Ramiro I was a significant figure in the history of the Kingdom of Aragon, ruling from 1035 to 1063. He was the first king of Aragon, establishing the monarchy after the region gained independence from the County of Sobrarbe. His reign marked the beginning of the Aragonese royal lineage.
During his rule, Ramiro I focused on consolidating power and expanding his territory. He successfully defended his kingdom against external threats, particularly from the Muslim states in the south. His leadership laid the groundwork for future kings and the eventual growth of the Crown of Aragon.
