King Philip VI of France
King Philip VI of France, born in 1293, was the first monarch of the House of Valois. He ascended to the throne in 1328 after the death of his cousin, King Charles IV. His reign marked the beginning of the Hundred Years' War between France and England, which lasted from 1337 to 1453.
