King Milan I
King Milan I was the ruler of Serbia from 1882 to 1889. He was born on August 22, 1854, and became the first king of Serbia after it was elevated from a principality. His reign was marked by efforts to modernize the country and strengthen its military.
Milan I faced various challenges, including political opposition and economic difficulties. In 1889, he abdicated in favor of his son, Alexander I, and went into exile. He returned to Serbia later and died on February 29, 1901, leaving a complex legacy in Serbian history.
