King Manuel II
King Manuel II was the last king of Portugal, reigning from 1908 until the monarchy was abolished in 1910. Born on November 15, 1889, he ascended to the throne after the assassination of his father, King Carlos I, and his older brother, Prince Luís. His reign was marked by political instability and social unrest, which ultimately led to the decline of the monarchy.
In 1910, a republican revolution forced Manuel II into exile, and he spent the rest of his life in various countries, including England and France. He died on July 2, 1932, in London, leaving behind a legacy of a turbulent period in Portuguese history.
