King Ludwig III of Bavaria
King Ludwig III of Bavaria was the last king of Bavaria, reigning from 1913 until the monarchy was abolished in 1918. He was born on January 7, 1845, and was a member of the House of Wittelsbach. His reign was marked by the challenges of World War I and the political upheaval that followed, leading to the end of the German monarchy.
After the war, Ludwig III went into exile and lived in various countries, including Austria and Switzerland. He died on October 18, 1921, in Tegernsee, Germany. His legacy is often overshadowed by the tumultuous events of his time, including the rise of the Weimar Republic.
