King Louis VII
King Louis VII was the King of France from 1137 to 1180. He was a member of the Capetian dynasty and is known for his participation in the Second Crusade. His reign was marked by conflicts with the Plantagenets, particularly over territories in Aquitaine.
Louis VII's marriage to Eleanor of Aquitaine initially strengthened his power, but their union ended in divorce, which had significant political implications. He focused on consolidating royal authority and improving the administration of his kingdom. Despite his challenges, Louis VII is remembered for his efforts to enhance the French monarchy.
