King Korokī
King Korokī was the last reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaii, serving from 1940 until the overthrow of the monarchy in 1941. He was born on June 21, 1891, and became king after the death of his father, King Kalākaua. His reign was marked by efforts to preserve Hawaiian culture and traditions.
During his short time as king, Korokī faced significant challenges, including political tensions and the growing influence of the United States in Hawaii. After the overthrow, he lived in exile and worked to promote the rights of Native Hawaiians. He passed away on January 18, 1953.
