King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies
King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies was born on January 12, 1751, and ruled from 1759 until his death in 1825. He was the first king of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, which was formed in 1816 by merging the Kingdom of Sicily and the Kingdom of Naples. His reign was marked by efforts to stabilize the economy and maintain the monarchy's power amid political changes in Europe.
Ferdinand I faced numerous challenges, including revolts and the influence of the Napoleonic Wars. He was known for his conservative policies and resistance to liberal reforms. After his death, his son, Francis I, succeeded him, continuing the royal lineage in the region.
