King Edmund
King Edmund, also known as Edmund Ironside, was an English king who ruled in 1016. He was the son of King Æthelred the Unready and Emma of Normandy. Edmund is best known for his resistance against the Danish invasion led by King Cnut, fighting valiantly to defend his kingdom.
After a series of battles, Edmund was ultimately defeated by Cnut. Despite his short reign, he is remembered for his bravery and determination. He died later that same year, and his legacy is often overshadowed by the more prominent figures of the time, such as Cnut, who went on to become a significant ruler in England.
