King Edmund II
King Edmund II, also known as Edmund Ironside, was a king of England who reigned briefly in 1016. He was the son of King Edmund I and became known for his strong resistance against the Danish invasion led by King Cnut. His reign lasted only a few months, as he faced significant challenges from Cnut's forces.
Edmund was a skilled warrior and fought valiantly in several battles, including the notable Battle of Assandun. Despite his efforts, he was ultimately defeated by Cnut. After his death, Cnut became the sole ruler of England, marking the beginning of a new era in English history.
