Key Stage 1
Key Stage 1 (KS1) is an educational stage in England for children aged 5 to 7 years, typically covering Year 1 and Year 2. It is part of the National Curriculum and focuses on foundational skills in subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science.
During KS1, students develop basic literacy and numeracy skills, learning to read, write, and solve simple math problems. Assessments, known as SATs, are conducted at the end of Year 2 to evaluate students' progress and understanding of the curriculum.
