Kapok
Kapok is a natural fiber obtained from the seed pods of the kapok tree (Ceiba pentandra). This tree is native to tropical regions and can grow up to 200 feet tall. The fiber is lightweight, buoyant, and resistant to water, making it ideal for use in life jackets, pillows, and insulation.
The kapok fiber is soft and fluffy, resembling cotton but with a coarser texture. It is often used in eco-friendly products due to its biodegradable nature. Additionally, the kapok tree plays a vital role in its ecosystem, providing habitat for various wildlife and contributing to forest biodiversity.
