Ceiba
The Ceiba tree, also known as the silk cotton tree, is a large tropical tree native to Central and South America, as well as parts of Africa and Asia. It can grow up to 70 meters tall and is known for its distinctive, wide trunk and large, spiky seed pods. The tree is often associated with various cultures and is considered sacred in some indigenous traditions.
Ceiba trees play a vital role in their ecosystems, providing habitat for numerous species, including birds and insects. The tree's cotton-like fibers from the seed pods are used in traditional crafts and can also be used as insulation. Additionally, the Ceiba tree is valued for its timber and is often planted in urban areas for shade.
