Kamehameha III
Kamehameha III, born as Alexander Liholiho in 1814, was the third monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom. He ascended to the throne in 1825 after the death of his brother, Kamehameha II. His reign lasted until 1854 and is noted for significant political and social reforms, including the establishment of a constitutional monarchy.
During his rule, Kamehameha III worked to modernize the Hawaiian government and promote education. He is also known for the Great Mahele in 1848, which aimed to redistribute land and improve property rights among the Hawaiian people, impacting the future of land ownership in Hawaii.
