Kailash Mountain
Kailash Mountain, located in the Tibetan Plateau of Tibet, stands at 6,638 meters (21,778 feet) and is considered one of the most sacred peaks in the world. It is revered in several religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon, with many pilgrims undertaking the challenging trek around its base, known as the Kailash Kora.
The mountain is characterized by its unique pyramid shape and is surrounded by four lakes, each representing different colors. The most notable lake is Manasarovar, which is believed to have spiritual significance. Despite its religious importance, climbing Kailash is prohibited, preserving its sanctity for devotees.
