K. Pattabhi Jois was an influential Indian yoga teacher, best known for popularizing the style of yoga called Ashtanga Yoga. Born in 1915 in Karnataka, India, he began studying yoga at a young age under the guidance of Krishnamacharya, a prominent figure in modern yoga. Jois established the K.
