Krishnamacharya
Krishnamacharya was an influential Indian yoga teacher, scholar, and healer, born in 1888. He is often referred to as the "father of modern yoga" for his role in popularizing yoga practices in the 20th century. His teachings emphasized the importance of adapting yoga to individual needs, combining physical postures, breath control, and meditation.
He trained many prominent students, including B.K.S. Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois, who further spread his teachings worldwide. Krishnamacharya's approach integrated traditional Indian philosophy with practical techniques, making yoga accessible to a broader audience. He passed away in 1989, leaving a lasting legacy in the yoga community.
