Jump Squats
Jump squats are a dynamic exercise that combines a traditional squat with a jump. To perform a jump squat, start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lower your body into a squat position, keeping your chest up and knees behind your toes. Then, explosively jump upward, extending your arms overhead. Land softly and immediately lower back into the squat position to repeat the movement.
This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes, while also engaging the core for stability. Jump squats can improve strength, power, and cardiovascular fitness, making them a popular choice in high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts.
