Johnstone's Crocodile
Johnstone's Crocodile, also known as Crocodylus johnstoni, is a species of freshwater crocodile native to northern Australia. It typically inhabits rivers, swamps, and lagoons, preferring areas with dense vegetation. This species is smaller than other crocodiles, usually growing to about 2 to 3 meters in length.
These crocodiles are known for their distinctive narrow snouts and are primarily carnivorous, feeding on fish, birds, and small mammals. Johnstone's Crocodile is considered less aggressive than other crocodile species, making it a subject of interest for researchers studying crocodilian behavior and ecology.
