Crocodylus johnstoni
Crocodylus johnstoni, commonly known as the freshwater crocodile, is a species native to Australia. It typically inhabits rivers, lakes, and wetlands, preferring freshwater environments. This crocodile is smaller than its saltwater counterpart, usually growing to about 2 to 3 meters in length.
The freshwater crocodile has a slender body and a long snout, which helps it catch fish and other small prey. Unlike some other crocodile species, Crocodylus johnstoni is generally less aggressive towards humans, making it a less dangerous species in its natural habitat.
