John Dalrymple, 2nd Earl of Stair
John Dalrymple, 2nd Earl of Stair (1679–1747), was a Scottish nobleman and politician. He was a prominent figure during the early 18th century, known for his role in the {Jacobite} uprisings and his involvement in the {Scottish Parliament}. He served as a military officer and was appointed as the commander of the {British Army} in Scotland.
