Joan II of Navarre
Joan II of Navarre was born in 1425 and became the Queen of Navarre in 1479. She was the daughter of John II of Navarre and Blanche I of Navarre. Joan's reign was marked by her efforts to maintain the independence of Navarre amid the political struggles of the time, particularly with the Kingdom of Castile and Aragon.
In 1479, Joan married Ferdinand II of Aragon, which strengthened ties between Navarre and the Spanish kingdoms. Despite her marriage, she faced challenges in preserving her kingdom's autonomy. Joan II ruled until her death in 1479, leaving a legacy of resilience in the face of external pressures.
