Joan Beaufort
Joan Beaufort was a notable figure in the 15th century, born around 1404. She was the daughter of John Beaufort, 1st Earl of Somerset and Margaret Holland. Joan became the wife of James I of Scotland, which strengthened ties between England and Scotland.
As a queen consort, Joan played a significant role in the royal court and had several children, including James II of Scotland. Her life was marked by the political complexities of her time, particularly the ongoing conflicts between the English and Scottish crowns. Joan passed away in 1445.
