Jhon Jairo Velásquez
Jhon Jairo Velásquez, also known as Popeye, was a notorious Colombian hitman and a key figure in the Medellín Cartel. Born on April 15, 1962, he became infamous for his involvement in numerous assassinations and violent crimes during the height of the cartel's power in the 1980s and early 1990s. Velásquez was a close associate of drug lord Pablo Escobar.
After the fall of the Medellín Cartel, Velásquez was arrested and served time in prison. He later became a controversial figure in popular culture, appearing in interviews and social media, where he discussed his past and the inner workings of the cartel. He died on February 6, 2020.
