Javier Sotomayor
Javier Sotomayor is a retired Cuban high jumper, widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes in the sport's history. Born on June 13, 1967, in Limonar, Cuba, he set the world record for high jump at 2.45 meters in 1992, a record that still stands today. Sotomayor won numerous medals, including gold at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
