The High Jump is a track and field event where athletes aim to jump over a horizontal bar set at various heights. Competitors take a running start and use a technique, often the Fosbury Flop, to clear the bar without knocking it down. The height of the bar is raised after each round, and athletes have three attempts to clear each height.
Scoring in the high jump is straightforward: an athlete earns points for each height cleared. If they fail to clear a height after three attempts, they are eliminated from the competition. The athlete with the highest successful jump wins the event.
